Frank Galvin is a washed-up alcoholic lawyer who is presiding over what should be an open-and-shut malpractice case. Suspecting a cover-up, he daringly refuses a settlement and instead takes on the negligent doctors and the unforgiving and powerful Boston medical establishment.
