Youth 13-18 are invited to join us for a 3-day summer camp to explore materials, personal stories, cultural memories, and identity.
Inspired by Shirley Moorhouse and Zadie Xa’s ability to share stories through fabric, youth will spend time experimenting with materials and developing the skills needed to create their own work of textile art. Through meaningful symbols, patterns, and textures, youth will explore personal stories, cultural memories, and identity.
Registration is essential.
Camp schedule (registrants must attend all 3 days):
Sunday 2 August, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Monday 3 August, 10 a.m.– 4 p.m.
Tuesday 4 August, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Recommended for youth aged 13-18.
Parent or guardian consent essential for participants under 16.**
Parents or guardians are not required to be present for the duration of the program. Lunch will be provided, and youth will receive an honorarium should they decide to submit their work for their Bridge Space exhibition.
