Karen Kamensek leads Tchaikovsky’s heart-rending final symphony, which the composer himself said “is the best and most sincere thing I have ever composed.” Arvo Pärt’s mesmerizing Fratres opens the concert, after which the Calgary Philharmonic Chorus joins the Orchestra in Vaughan Williams’s passionate plea for peace.
