If you’re looking to book a private session for a large group\, click here. \nWhen: April 23\, June 11\, Sept. 17 & Nov. 19\nCost: $95 a person\nTime: 10 am – 2:30 pm\nWhere:750 9th Ave SE \nAny professional working in Calgary will benefit from a deeper understanding of Indigenous cultures\, and the impacts of historical events that shaped today’s people and culture. \nThis public offering of our Indigenous Allyship Professional Development Workshop is ideal for small groups or individuals interested in fostering a more respectful and inclusive work environment. \nThe Indigenous Allyship Professional Development Workshop includes:\n– an engaging session on how to give a meaningful land acknowledgment\n– a guided walking tour of the land stopping at key landmarks and discussing critical perspectives on Indigenous and colonial histories\n– a storytelling session and Q&A with an Indigenous Elder/Knowledge Keeper \nGain valuable insight and perspective on contemporary Indigenous relations to further your professional and personal journey to reconciliation. \nHear from Indigenous Voices\nThis workshop was developed with Otsskoipiiks’aakii Paula Smith\, a Blackfoot Knowledge Keeper from Piikani Nation. In the afternoon\, Paula will lead a storytelling session and discussion alongside Minipoka Peter Weasel Moccasin or another Elder from Treaty 7. This session offers valuable insight and perspective on contemporary Indigenous relations. Equip yourself with the knowledge and tools to foster a respectful\, inclusive environment that honours Indigenous traditions and experiences. \nBe sure to pack a lunch! The workshop runs four hours\, including a 30min lunch break. Food will not be provided so please pack a lunch or plan to grab food from a nearby business. Unfortunately\, we do not have microwaves or a refrigerator available to use.
