Born from the womb of Y2K techno paranoia, dance-punk mega duo Death From Above 1979 have been a cathartic through-line since 2001. Every now and then they come to fly their jumbo jet sound into the skyscrapers that the zeitgeist has erected. In 2026, they once again blast off celebrating their 25th anniversary with a fifth LP, Private Lives, slated for a fall release. They’ve survived CDs, MP3s, pirating, streaming and AI slop undeterred and have delivered nothing but psycho tenor wails and frenetic juvenile delinquent rhythms.
